The All-Russian competition for international students “StudRussia” has been launched
15 September 2025 |
The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation announces the launch of the All-Russian competition for international students “StudRussia,” aimed at supporting talented international students with significant achievements in science, the arts, sports, public activities, and volunteering. The official organizer of the Competition is the National University of Science and Technology MISIS, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia.
The Competition aims to create conditions for the professional and creative self-realization of international students, develop their leadership qualities, and showcase their achievements in various fields. It is held in two languages—Russian and English—so that every international student can comfortably present their achievements in the language they are most confident in. This will help fully unlock participants’ potential, ensure equal conditions, and highlight the project’s international nature.
Participants can compete in the following categories:
1) Future of Science — for those engaged in research and participating in scientific events;
2) Leader of a Generation — for active students developing youth policy;
3) Conquerors of Peaks — for athletes who have achieved success in competitions;
4) Good Without Borders — for volunteers involved in charitable projects;
5) Inspired by Creativity — for creative individuals;
6) Russian Language and Culture — for those who promote the Russian language and Russian culture.
The highest award of the Competition is the Grand Prix “Best International Student,” which is presented to participants who take leading positions across several categories or distinguish themselves particularly in the in-person stages of the Competition.
International students at Russian universities aged 18 to 30, enrolled in bachelor’s programs (at least in their 2nd year), specialist programs, master’s programs, postgraduate (aspirantura) or residency programs, are invited to participate. Applications are accepted until September 14, 2025, on the official Competition website. To participate, you must complete the application form and attach a portfolio of achievements and a motivation letter.
The Competition will be held in three stages:
1. Qualifying stage (August 28–September 21, 2025) — submission of applications and evaluation of materials.
2. District stage (by October 30, 2025) — in-person forums in the eight federal districts hosted by co-organizing universities.
3. All-Russian stage (by December 10, 2025) — the final at the National University of Science and Technology MISIS (Moscow) with a formal awards ceremony.
Winners will receive diplomas, prizes, and the opportunity to present their achievements at the national level. Additional information about the Competition is available on the official website.
