The lady is a talented painter (virtuoso of tapestry), teacher and researcher, an author of several significant scholarly and educational works in the area of fine arts, as well as a representative of the Lopukhins ancient Russian house.

The Therepsiton, a performance by Vladimir Yermachenkov and Oleg Makarov

Léon Theremin (1896–1993), the famous creator of the thereminvox (1920), designed an electronic instrument called therepsitone (1978) for Lidia Kavina, his cousin’s granddaughter (b. 1967). The dance artist Vladimir Yermachenkov and the composer Oleg Makarov, an engineer at the Moscow Conservatory’s Center for Electroacoustic Music, staged a performance specifically for this instrument. A unique specimen of the therepsitone occupies an important place at the exhibition “To Archive the Present Time” in the Art Space “Artemyev”.
