    Oleg was born in 1950 at family of the soloist of Bolshoi Theatre orchestra – Smirnov German Alexandrovich.

    In 1977 he graduated from Moscow State Conservatoire class of Professor G. Kozolypova.

    Major part of Oleg’s life is connected with his work in Bolshoi Theatre orchestra (1975-1996).

    He participated in many international competitions. For instance, he is a winner of B. Bartok’s Festival in Budapest (1975) and of International competition under the name of V. Bukki in Rome (1990). Mexican papers wrote: “Oleg’s cello can cry like a child and can growl like a lion”.

    In 1994 Oleg founded Glinka Quartet which obtained the status of State quartet in 2000.
