Mikhail Gotsdiner was born on February, 21, 1953 in Sverdlovsk (now Yekaterinburg).   In 1971 he finished the Leningrad Conservatory music school (with M. Beljakov). The same year he enrolled in the Moscow Conservatory (violin class of Prof. D. Oistrakh) where from he graduated in 1976 (after Oistrakh`s death he studied with O. Krysa). He also completed the post–graduate course in 1980 (with V. Klimov).  From 1976 to 1985 Mikhail Gotsdiner was the leader, soloist and conductor of the chamber orchestra «Richercare» of the Tula Regional philharmonic society, in 1985–1990 became the leader of the State Small Symphony orchestra of the USSR (art director and conductor Yu. Simonov). From 1989 he plays the first violin in the Amistad quartet. In 1990–1994 he was a soloist of the Russian National Symphony orchestra (art director and conductor M. Pletnev). M. Gotsdiner regularly appears in the halls of the Moscow conservatory, the Russian Academy of Music and in many others. He is a member (1–st violin) of Tchaikovsky String Quartet of the Moscow Philharmonic Society. The other members of the Quartet are as follows: Lev Maslovsky, Sergey Baturin, Rustam Komachkov. In 1993, as a contribution to the memory of the great Russian composer (one hundred years from the date of P. Tchaikovsky`s death), the quartet was awarded P. I. Tchaikovsky`s name.

Teaching:

From 1993 Mikhail Gotsdiner has worked as an assistant (in A. Vinnitsky`s class), in 1995 he was entitled a violin teacher at  the Moscow Conservatory, since 2003 he is a full professor here. In 1993 he also began teaching at the Russian Gnesin Academy of Music, from 1994–at the State Special Higher School of Arts and at the Central Music School.

He was a member of the assessment commission working at the Music College in Maikop and at the Music Liceum in Novosibirsk.

Educational work:

Master-classes and various courses:

From 1994 he gave masters classes in Finland, Scotland, Turkey, South Korea, worked as a principal of the Youth Orchestra in Italy in the framework of the program OGI.
He also gave masters classes in Russia: Novosibirsk, Maikop, Tula, Moscow, Sochi, Pereyaslavl–Zalessky, Leninskiye Gorki, Vladikavkaz, Perm, and also participated in the Summer school «The New names» (Suzdal) and «The New names» of the Moscow region (Nizhnevartovsk).
