Annex of the Year 2023 to Regulations on Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory’s International Nikolai Myaskovsky Competition of Young Composers
A.1. General Provisions
A.1.1. The full official name of the competition is Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory’s Seventh International Nikolai Myaskovsky Competition of Young Composers (hereinafter to be referred to as “the 7th Myaskovsky Competition”).
A.1.3. The dates of holding the 7th Myaskovsky Competition are from 10 to 30 April 2023 inclusive.
A.2. Prizes of the 7th Myaskovsky Competition
A.2.1. The Organizing Committee has announced the following prizes for the laureates:
- (1) First Prize of 80,000 (eighty thousand) rubles;
- (2) Second Prize of 60,000 (sixty thousand) rubles;
- (3) Third Prize of 40,000 (forty thousand) rubles.
A.3. The Jury Teams of the 7th Myaskovsky Competition
A.3.1. The Jury Team of Round One:
Members of the Jury Team are to be announced later.
A.3.2. The Jury Team of Round Two:
Members of the Jury Team are to be announced later.
A.4. Procedure for Holding the 7th Myaskovsky Competition
A.4.3. The 7th Myaskovsky Competition consists of two rounds.
- A.4.3.1. Round One is an eliminating contest of the pieces to be submitted by the applicants to the Organizing Committee (hereinafter to be referred to as “the Piece”; see clause 5.2 in the basic text of the Regulations).
- A.4.3.2. Round Two of the 7th Myaskovsky Competition will be held publicly on 28 April 2023 at 10:00 in the Nikolai Myaskovsky Concert Hall of Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory.
A.4.6.1. The award ceremony and the final concert of the 7th Myaskovsky Competition will take place on 30 April 2023 at 14:00 in the Nikolai Myaskovsky Concert Hall of Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory.
A.5. Submission of the Application and the Piece
A.5.1. In order to participate in the 7th Myaskovsky Competition, every applicant must fill out his/her online application.

See the description of the other necessary documents in the text of the Regulations (the Regulations tab: clauses 5.1.3, 5.1.4, 5.1.5, 5.1.6 and 5.3).
A.5.2.1. Also, in order to participate in the 7th Myaskovsky Competition, every applicant must submit one Piece composed by him/her personally, with any formal structure whatsoever, to be presented in the form of the score and the parts as PDF files, provided that:
- (1) the score and each part must be signed by the applicant’s identifying password only (hereinafter to be referred to as “the Password”), with no name on them;
- (2) the name of each PDF file has to contain the Password only;
- (3) the Password on the score must be identical to that on each part.
A.5.2.2. The Piece has to be composed for a string orchestra consisting of 4 first violins, 4 second violins, 3 violas, 3 cellos, 2 double-basses. The duration of the Piece has to be seven minutes minimum and ten minutes maximum.
A.5.4. The deadline for submitting the online application and the Piece in order to participate in the 7th Myaskovsky Competition is 9 April 2023.
A.6. Financial Term
A.6.2. An amount of the registration fee for participation in the 7th Myaskovsky Competition is, optionally:
- (1) 3000 (three thousand) Russian rubles;
- (2) 300 (three hundred) Chinese yuans;
- (3) 43 (forty-three) US dollars;
- (4) 40 (forty) euros.
