Rector's Address to the Conservatory Applicants

05 February 2014 |

Dear applicants!

Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, one of the world best musical universities founded in 1866, invites you to enter.

The glorious past, great traditions and bright talent of the younger generations of the conservatory alumni create a matchless atmosphere, which has been attracting guests from abroad during a number of decades. About 300 foreign students from many countries have been studying in our institution today, and not only do they enjoy an opportunity to study with world famous teachers (soloists, conductors, composers and musicologists) but also to use the richest funds of the Sergey Taneyev Scholarly Musical Library, which is one of Russia’s largest storages of books and scores.

Concert halls with exquisite acoustics, such as the Great, the Small, the Rachmaninoff, the Myaskovsky and the Conference Halls, play a crucially important role in the life of our institution. Foreign students may participate in master classes and attend concerts of famous performers and groups, as well as may feel proud to recite in the highly prestigious halls of the conservatory.

We are happy to grant you a unique opportunity to attend musical, literary and fine arts museums and exhibitions of Moscow and vicinities in an organized way and in the company of the Russian Language Department teachers, as well as to participate in concerts held in the halls of these historical sites.

We invite all who strive for getting academic music education and for enriching their artistic and scholarly experience to pass our creative exams and to become the holders of the Moscow Conservatory diplomas!

The diploma of a Moscow Conservatory graduate is a path to a successful career of a performer, a musicologist or a music teacher.

We are waiting for you!

Professor Alexander Sokolov, D.A.
Rector of Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory
