The competition is held by the Moscow Conservatory on an annual basis to stimulate students’ professional interest in their music theory studies, to expand artistic contacts between music colleges and higher educational institutions, as well as to improve the content of educational programs for current music theory courses.

Retrospective of Ivan Starostin’s Documentaries and Video Projects

A retrospective of the works of Ivan Starostin’s Studio dedicated to Sergei Rachmaninoff’s memorial addresses — both the Ivanovka estate and his Moscow apartment on Strastnoy Boulevard, — timed to coincide with the birthday of the great composer, pianist and conductor (2 April) and with the memorial day of Alexander Yermakov, the founder of the Sergei Rachmaninoff Museum-Reserve Ivanovka (14 April), took place in the Moscow Conservatory’s Conference Hall on 5 April 2025.

Opening of the Exhibition The Keeper of Time (Painting, Graphics, Tapestry)

Natalia Lopukhina’s personal exhibition The Keeper of Time opened in the Small Hall’s left foyer on 2 April 2025. The lady is a talented painter (virtuoso of tapestry), teacher and researcher, an author of several significant scholarly and educational works in the area of fine arts, as well as a representative of the Lopukhins ancient Russian house.

Exhibition for the Centenary of the Russian Conservatory in Paris

An exhibition dedicated to the centenary of the Rachmaninoff Russian Conservatory in Paris opened in the foyer of the Conservatory’s Small Hall on 6 March 2025. The exhibition was organized by the Center of Russian Émigrés in cooperation with Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory, Russia’s National Museum of Music and the Rachmaninoff Russian Conservatory in Paris with the support of the Foundation of Russian Émigrés’ Heritage.

Closing Ceremony of the Video Content Competition “An Artist’s Shot”

The First Video Content Competition “An Artist’s Shot” ended with the award ceremony for its laureates. First Prize was awarded to Pankrat Kolesnikov, a student of the Department of Brass and Percussion Instruments. Second Prize was awarded to Anna Kobyakova, a composer. Third Prize went to Olga Moiseyeva, a musicologist.
