Retrospective of Documentary Works. Day Two

The second day of the retrospective of documentary films and video projects consisted of stories about the lost estates of the Novgorod area, where Sergei Rachmaninoff used to spend time in his childhood. The presentation included the cycle of programs by the local historian Natalya Basmanova.

The Time of Guitar Competition Festival

The Fifth International Competition-Festival The Time of Guitar was held with the support of Russia’s Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives. The auditions and workshops took place in the Moscow Conservatory. The artistic director of the festival was Assc. Prof. Dmitry Borodayev, President of the Moscow International Association of the Art of Guitar Performance.

New Transcriptions of Rachmaninoff’s Pieces in the Conservatory’s Audio Fund

The recording sessions of Elena Tarasova’s solo album took place in the last days of August 2024 in the Conservatory’s Great Hall. Piano transcriptions of Three Russian Songs (op. 41) and Symphonic Dances (op. 45), performed by the pianist in 2023, were included in the program of her monographic album of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s oeuvre. The project’s sound engineer is Ruslana Oreshnikova.
