Combined Performance and Academic Program for Graduate and Undergraduate Students


If you are working on a topic related to Russian music or Russian music theory and interested in taking individual lessons and masterclasses in your instrument, you will find the best teachers and the environment for your study! You can combine taking private lessons with the world-famous professors of the Moscow Conservatory with the research, lectures, seminars and individual lessons with the legendary Russian musicologists. You can be the first to start the large-scale research projects in Moscow and St. Petersburg.

All lessons and lecture are given in English language!

The Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory International School offers an intensive program of private lessons, lectures, master classes and performances in these specializations:

  • Instrumental Performance including piano, organ and all orchestral instruments
  • Vocal Performance
  • Choral and Orchestra Conducting
  • Chamber Music
  • Accompaniment
  • Composition
  • Piano, Vocal and Strings Pedagogy

AND

  • Historical Musicology (Russian and Western), Music Theory, Ethnomusicology, Musical Pedagogy, Ear Training Method, and World Music.

Students receive three individual lessons (50 min.) per week; have an opportunity to participate in daily master classes given by leading Russian professors, and take part in the School performances.

All International School participants have an opportunity to attend all concerts at the Moscow conservatory halls simultaneously with the School’s academic program.

Over 50 leading professors of the Moscow conservatory, internationally renowned for their artistic and academic achievements are in the staff of International School. For the information about the faculty and topics, refer to the web site of Moscow Conservatory.

NOTICE: the DATES OF REGULAR WINTER SCHOOL are different from the dates of this program. The information on THIS PROGRAM will be posted on the web site later.

Certificate

Each student will receive a Moscow Conservatory Certificate upon completion of study at the International School.

Accommodation & Meals

International School participants will stay at the Moscow Conservatory’s dormitory, or for extra fee can opt for one of Moscow’s many hotels. Two meals per day will be provided at the Conservatory’s cafeteria.

Cultural Program

The International Winter & Summer School is located in the historic Moscow conservatory building in the downtown Moscow. Guided tours to places of interest in and outside Moscow will be conducted. You will visit the Moscow Kremlin, Tretyakov Gallery, Bolshoi Theatre, the residences of Tchaikovsky, Scriabin, Richter, Libraries and Archives.

Optional Activities

At extra cost, students can select any one or more of the following options:

  • Courses in the Russian Language
  • Accompanist for the preparation of student’s concert program and performance
  • Special Chamber music class with students of the International School or with students of the Moscow Conservatory
  • Special/individual class in accompaniment Class with professional singers
  • Additional private lessons with Conservatory professors
  • Interpreter for/during special/personal excursions

No extra fees are charged for Chamber Music or Accompaniment Classes if they are part of the student’s main curriculum.
